Noble Carbon has re-imagined the circuit breaker for the electrified future—delivering smarter, safer, and controllable energy at the circuit level. Their smart breakers fit standard electrical panels, enabling circuit-by-circuit energy monitoring, scheduling, and optimization through an intuitive app. This modular design allows homeowners, businesses, and municipalities to upgrade incrementally without replacing entire panels.
Noble Carbon’s technology provides granular load control, resilience, and meaningful energy savings. Breakers maintain full manual functionality during internet outages and support tandem and two‑pole configurations from 15A to 60A, making the system flexible for a wide range of installations.

Noble Carbon has deep ties to the BIC. As a member of the first cohort of the Stage 2 Accelerator program, they leveraged the BIC's expertise and lab resources to evolve their product from lab prototyping to field testing. And the BIC has been instrumental in helping Noble Carbon raise funds, both through introductions made to local investors, and through supporting the team in grant and incentive applications to the state.
Noble Carbon has received both an M2I2 grant from the Mass Tech Collaborative to help scale manufacturing and an InnovateMass grant from the MassCEC to deploy their breakers to hundreds of homes in Western Mass in partnership with Eversource. With their smart circuit breakers actively undergoing UL testing and certification, Noble Carbon plans to bring their product to market in 2026.
