Community & Events Associate
Part-Time
Berkshire Innovation Center
The Berkshire Innovation Center (BIC) is a nonprofit innovation center that supports entrepreneurs, advanced technology companies, and workforce development across the Berkshires. Since opening in 2020, the BIC has become a focal point for advanced manufacturing, clean energy, and applied technology in the region. Our building regularly brings together entrepreneurs, engineers, educators, students, and community partners to collaborate, learn, and grow new ideas.

We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and mission-driven Community & Events Associate to support the daily operations of the BIC and help create a welcoming experience for everyone who walks through our doors. This part-time role plays an important part in ensuring meetings, events, and visitors to the BIC are supported with professionalism and care.

This role helps serve as the “front door” of the BIC, interacting with entrepreneurs, industry partners, educators, students, and community leaders who gather here to collaborate and build new ideas.
Primary Responsibilities
Assisting with inbound meeting room bookings
Greeting and assisting guests as they arrive
Resetting meeting spaces and ensuring rooms are ready for the next group
Supporting educational outreach and selected BIC programs
Other projects as assigned
Setting up meeting and event spaces as needed
Supporting groups as they prepare for meetings and events by providing basic technology assistance and troubleshooting, as well as helping with other logistical needs
Answering phone calls and taking accurate messages as needed
Assisting with occasional events hosted at the BIC
Requirements and Skills
Flexibility in scheduling is essential to meet facility needs. The ideal candidate has strong communication and customer service skills, a positive attitude, enjoys working with people, and is comfortable in a fast-paced, community-focused environment.

Because this role supports meetings, events, and visiting groups, reliability and punctuality are essential. The successful candidate should be comfortable working independently and taking initiative to ensure guests and events run smoothly.

Candidates should be comfortable using basic office software and common technology tools. An interest in entrepreneurship, technology, education, or community building is a plus.
